A True Story of How Seat Belts Save Lives

My name is Lori and I am the mother of a 17 year old girl who was in a very serious car wreck on Sat. Feb 13th, 2010. She was driving on I35 in Waco, Texas. Darcey, who is a senior at China Spring High School, was on her way that morning to basketball practice, which by the way was for a playoff game that was coming up the upcoming week. She hit a small area of black ice and apparently went into the other lane and was then struck by an 18 wheeler truck, knocked back across the interstate and into the concrete dividing wall in the middle on 35.There is ONE reason this beautiful and vibrant young lady was able to walk out on the basketball court tonight for her playoff game with a very sore body from head to toe and played with shear determination on the court...... a SEAT BELT that kept her in the truck. I will be forever greatful she was wearing her seat belt. THANK YOU from the bottom of a mothers heart. Sincerly Lori
