About TMPA
TMPA acts as a liaison to coordinate the efforts between TxDOT
Program Managers, Traffic Safety Specialists, Law Enforcement Liaison
Teams, Sherry Matthews Advertising Agency, and each partner agency.
To achieve the goals, the programs combine a concerted
local and statewide media campaign with additional law enforcement
activity to reinforce their specific message. Police officers will
be working overtime, issuing citations and arresting DWI offenders,
in an effort to reduce the number of fatalities and injuries on Texas
roadways. Studies have shown that the combination of media exposure
and increased traffic enforcement are successful in increasing the
occupant protection usage rates, decreasing DWIs, decreasing speeding
violations and crashes, and improving the safety on Texas highways
and roads. |
